New Events Coordinator!
I just heard that Geneseo has finally hired a new Events Coordinator. The position has been open since mid-summer, and the person who's been "filling in" is leaving as of next week, so I am very relieved to have a permanent person on campus to help us with this conference! Of course, the new person, whose name is Andrea Klein, will be learning the ropes, so our SUNYLA conference will be a test run for her.
The next big news I am waiting on is whether the campus will let us use the "Townhouses" to house conference attendees. The townhouses are only 2 years old, quite lovely, and air conditioned! (No other residence hall on campus is air conditioned.) The college has never let any conference use the Townhouses, but after all, how much damage could a bunch of librarians do? ;-)

Andrea starts at SUNY Geneseo on January 17, 2006. She is very excited to get started!
Nancy Williamson saw this announcement and says that she loves the townhouse idea! Hopefully, we'll be able to secure this option.
